| Yu Yuan is a classical Chinese garden meaning Garden of Peace and Comfort. Built between 1559 and 1577 by local official Pan Yunduan as the private estate for his father, Yu Yuan is a maze of Ming Dynasty pavilions, elaborate gardens and goldfish ponds. The entire garden occupies 5 acres contained by an undulating wall. |
