WarnerWerks is proud to offer hand selected limestone rocks gathered from the shores and surrounding areas of famous Taihu Lake which covers an area of about 870 square miles in the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang in China. The beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake is appreciated by many and the area is popular with tourists worldwide. In addition to providing freshwater to the cities of Shanghai, Wuxi and Suzhou, the lake and surrounding areas produce many varieties of agricultural and aquatic products.
For centuries this area has been the source for the beautiful and distinctive ornamental stone used for decorating traditional Chinese gardens. Eroded over time by wind and water this limestone is found on dozens of islands and along miles of shoreline surrounding the lake. The stone is found in a variety of color and shapes and many sizes are available.
The largest Taihu stones are prized as a centerpiece in the garden while more modest sizes may line walkways or be grouped into interesting focal points. Even the smallest stones are perfect for indoor Bonsai use.
